My easy muffuletta sandwich recipe is my go to appetizer.  My husband is always inviting people over for games or get-togethers and I know I have a winning mini muffuletta sandwich recipe. Best of all I make these muffuletta sliders ahead of time and freeze. Who doesn’t love a New Orleans muffuletta sandwich and especially an easy muffuletta recipe? What’s great is this recipe is perfect for last-minute guests.  Whether you call it a Muffaletta or Muffuletta sandwich recipe, this is the BEST of easy muffuletta recipes from my Gulf Coast Favorites cookbook.

My Muffuletta Sliders Are Perfect For Everyday Snacks

The mix of sweet bread, salty olive salad with creamy cheese and ham is SO delicious that you will want to keep them on-hand too! I actually am pulling them out of the freezer tonight for dinner and we get excited to eat them every time.  I reheat in the oven or sometimes I reheat in the microwave for a quickie.  Sometimes, I use sliced turkey to substitute for the ham ore a combination of deli meat.  I know it sounds crazy but these 4 ingredients really create spectacular mini muffulettas. No matter what, I can assure you this simple New Orleans Muffuletta recipe makes a fabulous Mini Muffuletta recipe. I prefer the miniature Hawaiian rolls but you can use the larger Hawaiian Rolls.

Mini Muffuletta Recipe from Holly Clegg trim&TERRIFIC Gulf Coast Favorites

All it takes is four easy ingredients and 15 minutes for you to prepare my popular version of this Louisiana favorite Italian-style sandwich, mini muffuletta recipe  Make this easy muffuletta recipe ahead of time and refrigerate or freeze until ready to bake.  The key to the recipe is the olive mix and here’s another great recipe using the Olive salad mix is my Muffuletta Pasta Salad.

Makes 32 – 40 Mini Muffalettas

2 (12-ounce) packages party-size rolls (16-20 to a package)
1/2 pound thinly sliced lean ham
1 1/2 cups shredded Italian five-cheese blend
1 (16-ounce) jar chopped Italian olive salad, drained

1. Preheat oven 375°F.
2. Split rolls in half, lay on baking sheet. Divide ham, cheese, and olive salad onto each roll.
3. Replace bread tops. Bake 10-15 minutes or until cheese is melted.

TERRIFIC TIDBIT: Any combination of cheese may be used such as mozzarella, provolone, or Parmesan. Remember, freeze Muffalettas before baking. Here’s the brand of Olive Salad Mix I use but you can usually find an Italian mixture on an olive bar and then just chop it up.

Whenever I make this scrumptious easy muffuletta recipe sandwiches, I always make extra as they freeze so well.  If making extras to freeze, make sure to freeze before baking. When ready to serve, I take out a little ahead of time as they defrost quickly.  Just put them directly on a baking sheet.  I think any time you come to my house, I have these in the freezer.  Many times I pull these yummy mini muffuletta recipe out for my afternoon snack.

Everyone loves sliders so I think of these as an easy-to-make Mini Muffaletta Slider.  Satisfying with great flavors, you can serve any time of the year. In fact, don’t save for only Mardi Gras as they are unbelievably good.  The ultimate party slider with a feast of flavors. Also, my favorite rolls to use are the King Hawaiian Mini Rolls. I admit these rolls are one of my addictions and have you seen all the flavors they come in now?  From whole wheat to Jalapeno Hawaiian rolls and they are all good.

Pulled My Muffuletta Sliders Out Of The Freezer

I always keep my muffuletta sandwiches in the freezer to pull out for company or a quick dinner. Tonight, these muffuletta sliders were just the answer as I just got back in town and have not gone to the grocery.  I pulled them out for my husband and me for dinner. So, as I said, they are great for company for easy pick up mufflulettas or for even dinner! No matter what, this mini muffuletta recipe is delicious.  Best of all, they taste just as good out of the freezer!  Now, that’s the kind of recipe I like and create. Now, only if I had some king cake for dessert

*Raid a salad bar and chop to make olive salad
