My easy muffuletta sandwich recipe is my go to appetizer as my husband is always inviting people over for games or get-togethers.  Who doesn’t love a New Orleans muffuletta sandwich and especially an easy muffuletta recipe? What’s great is this recipe is perfect for last-minute guests or you can also make these mini muffulettas sandwiches ahead of time and freeze.  Whether you call it a  Muffaletta  or Muffuletta sandwich recipe, I have the BEST of easy muffuletta recipes from my Gulf Coast Favorites cookbook.  The mix of sweet bread, salty olive salad with creamy cheese and ham is SO delicious that you will want to keep them on-hand too! I use sliced turkey if you don’t want ham but either way this simple New Orleans Muffuletta Recipe I use as my Mini Muffuletta recipe. Use mini or larger Hawaiian Rolls.

Is it ok to freeze muffulettas? Whenever I make this scrumptious easy muffuletta recipe sandwiches, I always make extra as they freeze so well.  If making extras to freeze, make sure to freeze before baking. When ready to serve, I take out a little ahead of time as they defrost quickly.  Just put them directly on a baking sheet.  I think any time you come to my house, I have these in the freezer.  Many times I pull these yummy mini muffuletta recipe out for my afternoon snack.

Mini Muffuletta Recipe from Holly Clegg trim&TERRIFIC Gulf Coast Favorites

All it takes is four easy ingredients and 15 minutes for you to prepare my popular version of this Louisiana favorite Italian-style sandwich, mini muffuletta recipe  Make this easy muffuletta recipe ahead of time and refrigerate or freeze until ready to bake.

Makes 32 – 40 Mini Muffalettas

2 (12-ounce) packages party-size rolls (16-20 to a package)
1/2 pound thinly sliced lean ham
1 1/2 cups shredded Italian five-cheese blend
1 (16-ounce) jar chopped Italian olive salad, drained

1. Preheat oven 375°F.
2. Split rolls in half, lay on baking sheet. Divide ham, cheese, and olive salad onto each roll.
3. Replace bread tops. Bake 10-15 minutes or until cheese is melted.
