I am a true avocado addict and the combination of avocado and edamame makes this a wonderful delicious, nutritious dip chocked full of good-for-you ingredients with only 2 Weight watcher points. Try serving this dip with fresh veggies or chips. These easy party appetizer recipes you’ll prepare lots because they are so good and simple to make. I especially like this taco dip because it makes a substantial filling party dip. This dip is so popular it was on featured on Murphy, Sam And Jodi’ radio show for one of The 12 Dips of Christmas recipes.  Then, I also made it on WBRZ Holly’s Healthy Holiday Recipes. Nutritious and delicious but also simple.



Easy Taco Dip Recipe from Holly Clegg’s trim&TERRIFIC KITCHEN 101 cookbook

This popular taco-style dip makes a fast group favorite and sprinkle with cheese and black olives to top it off if desired.  Also, try serving this best taco dip recipe with chips or sometimes I serve it with fresh vegetables rounds. All ages adore this dip because who doesn’t like tacos?

Makes 16 (1/4-cup) servings

1 pound ground sirloin
4 ounces reduced-fat cream cheese
1 cup nonfat sour cream
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1 (1.25-ounce) packet taco seasoning
1 1/2 cups salsa
1 cup chopped tomato
1/2 cup chopped avocado

1. In large nonstick skillet, cook meat until done and drain excess grease. Add remaining ingredients except tomato and avocado and cook until mixture is creamy and cheese is melted
2. Transfer mixture to serving dish and top dip with chopped tomato and avocado. Serve warm.

Nutritional information per serving:  Calories 95, Calories from Fat 36%, Fat 4g, Saturated Fat 2g, Cholesterol 23mg, Sodium 286mg, Carbohydrates 7g, Dietary Fiber 1g, Total Sugars 2g, Protein 8g, Dietary Exchanges: 1/2 other carbohydrate, 1 lean meat

Terrific Tip:  Make in a crock pot and add cooked meat and remaining ingredients except tomato and avocado.  Sprinkle with tomato and avocado before serving and tell your guests can dig in.
