I am a true avocado addict and the combination of avocado and edamame makes this a wonderful delicious, nutritious dip chocked full of good-for-you ingredients with only 2 Weight watcher points. Try seving this dip with fresh veggies or chips. These easy party appetizer recipes you’ll prepare lots because they are so good and simple to make. I especially like this taco dip because it makes a substatial filling party dip.

Taco Dip from Holly Clegg’s trim&TERRIFIC KITCHEN 101 cookbook

This popular taco-style dip makes a fast group favorite and sprinkle with cheese and black olives to top it off if desired.  Also, try serving the dip with chips and sometimes I serve it with fresh vegetables rounds. All ages adore this dip because who doesn’t like tacos?

Makes 16 (1/4-cup) servings

1 pound ground sirloin
4 ounces reduced-fat cream cheese
1 cup nonfat sour cream
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1 (1.25-ounce) packet taco seasoning
1 1/2 cups salsa
1 cup chopped tomato
1/2 cup chopped avocado

1. In large nonstick skillet, cook meat until done and drain excess grease. Add remaining ingredients except tomato and avocado and cook until mixture is creamy and cheese is melted
2. Transfer mixture to serving dish and top dip with chopped tomato and avocado. Serve warm.

Terrific Tip:  Make in a crock pot and add cooked meat and remaining ingredients except tomato and avocado.  Sprinkle with tomato and avocado before serving and tell your guests can dig in.
