Crawfish Fettuccine Recipe with Velveeta Makes Healthy Crawfish Pasta Recipe

Crawfish Fettuccine makes a wonderful crawfish pasta simple supper.  Down south, we look forward to crawfish season but I look forward to using the Louisiana crawfish tails in recipes.  I couldn’t wait to share this healthy crawfish pasta recipe on my healthy food blog.  I love Louisiana crawfish tails and wanted to create a healthy crawfish recipes.  This favorite Louisiana crawfish pasta dish tops my list for healthy Cajun recipes. The rich cheesy white sauce makes this the BEST crawfish pasta ever from Gulf Coast Favorites cookbook.

My Healthy Crawfish Pasta Recipe Is Perfect Entertaining Recipe

Whenever I have out of town company, I usually make this wonderful recipe because everyone always requests crawfish! Whether I was making this easy seafood pasta for my kid’s get-togethers or for parties, this healthy Cajun recipe freezes great and serves a crowd.  Impressive and make-ahead!  I often double this crawfish pasta recipe when I have to serve a group.  My recipe to my rescue!

Crawfish Fettuccine Recipe from Gulf Coast Favorites Cookbook

This is my southern standby crawfish recipe. I like the recipe whenever we have company because I can make it ahead of time and freeze it. The fettuccine and crawfish in this wonderful cheesy white sauce make a delicious healthy crawfish pasta recipe.

Makes 8-10 servings

1 (8-ounce) package fettuccine
1 tablespoon butter
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 teaspoon minced garlic
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk
4 ounces light pasteurized cheese spread
1/2 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 pound Louisiana crawfish tails, drained and rinsed
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1 bunch green onions, chopped

1. Cook fettuccine according to directions on package. Drain; set aside.
2. In large nonstick pot, melt butter and sauté onion, green pepper and garlic until tender. Add flour and stir until combined.
3. Gradually stir in milk until mixture is smooth. Add cheese spread and mozzarella, stirring until melted. Add remaining ingredients, except green onions.  Cook, stirring, 2 minutes or until heated.
4. Toss with pasta and green onions.

Louisiana Crawfish Tails the Way to Go for Cajun Crawfish Fettuccine Recipe

If you think I peel crawfish to make all my crawfish recipes, you don’t know me well! Lots of people don’t realize you can buy already peeled bags of tails.  That’s what I do!  I always buy Louisiana crawfish tails in the bag which are available year round.  However, as the season approaches, the prices of the tails drop which makes it more enticing to cook crawfish recipes.  My crawfish pasta recipe is an easy recipe that makes a great family dinner.

Can you Freeze Crawfish Tails?

Stock up on Louisiana crawfish tails when they are more reasonably priced during crawfish season. You can freeze them up to a year.  Then, you have crawfish to pull out for last minute delicious seafood recipes.  Wait until you taste my Crawfish Pizza which makes a perfect last minute family dinner.  Everyone raves about my popular classic easy Etouffee recipe and it is an easy diabetic recipe.  Both recipes work great with frozen crawfish.  I like to rinse and drain frozen crawfish tails before using them.  Now, if you aren’t in an area where crawfish is readily available, be sure to check in the freezer at your seafood market or grocery. Remember to check the package to make sure it says LOUISIANA crawfish tails. You can taste the difference! Also, crawfish are healthy!

This is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets.  I love having these collapsible colanders. Also, I like having two different sizes because sometimes you don’t need a large one.  Best of all, they don’t take up much room and they are for easy storage.

Of course, I use my collapsible colanders for my crawfish fettuccine recipe.  Besides the pasta I rinse and drain the crawifsh if it is frozen.  Also, remember to always rinse and drain canned beans to reduce the sodium.  You don’t need a huge colander to do that!

  1. The written recipe is way different than the one in the video. No mozzarella cheese, evaporated vs. skim milk, and why does it say bake it??
