Easy Caprese Salad recipe from KITCHEN 101
My favorite of caprese salad recipes starts with ripe juicy tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil. This simple salad rocks! I make this fabulous salad year round but it just tastes better in the summer months. Make Caprese Salad with garden fresh tomatoes and fresh basil –fresh makes everything tastes better. I don’t have a green thumb but I can grow fresh basil. Not only is this salad easy to make but the vibrant colors give it such eye appeal. Take advantage of my easy summer recipes on my blog.
Makes 4 (2/3 cup) serving
2 cups sliced tomatoes or Roma tomatoes
3 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced
3 tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh basil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1. In shallow bowl or plate, layer or arrange tomatoes, mozzarella, basil and season to taste. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and serve.
